Luters On The Move

Frank and Ruth Luter

The Summer ends with the Fall challenges already on our agenda. "Katrina" has been our focus for the past three weeks. We have been on conference calls networking with other ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ & next week we will meet in Dallas to formulate these plans. The ongoing needs for food, water, personal care kits, "Bath in a Bag", and clothing are staggering! The need for construction workers & medical teams, counselors, and clean–up crews are going to keep the body of Christ busy for a long time.

Campus Crusade staff along with students, layman, and churches and organizations will demonstrate the love of Christ in giving out these provisions and providing these services. They are working together, one body, to represent the hands, feet and heart of Jesus to the Golf Coast.

In between Katrina’s involvement, we will be traveling to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to work in CCCI’s humanitarian warehouse. We will be gathering with several thousand volunteers from all over the U.S. packing crates of food, clothing, Bibles, Christian literature, toys and books for children to be shipped.

FAMILY NEWS

Vacation

In August, we had an outstanding vacation with family in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Even some of our friends joined us for great times of fellowship. Now we feel refreshed and ready to move out this Fall with ministry opportunities.

Dayana, our Bolivian "grand daughter" has left the home of Mark and Andrea, after completing her first year of language study at Lansing Community College, to live with her cousins on Orlando, Florida. There she will attend junior college working toward her education degree. Her family will be helping with tuition. She has brought a touch of Bolivian culture to us and we have shared ours with her. The love and friendship we have experienced by having her part of our family has been a rich one!

We will miss her! Thank you, God, for placing this on Mark and Andrea’s heart to bring her here to the states, providing her a home with love, clothing, and education---and You, O Lord came through in marvelous ways.

Susan, Todd’s wife had the privilege of running the 5 K Mac Bridge race this last Labor Day. She ran a good time, even making better than our Michigan governor, Jennifer Granholm! We were proud of her! Yea, Susan!

Juleen works as a hair stylist at a local salon, "EnStyle" Jolly/Okemos area. Come on in for full service; hair, nails, facials and perms! She has made her parents look great.

THANK YOU, PARTNERS!

It is dear friends like you who stand shoulder to shoulder with us in the mission that God has called us to. Thank you for your faithfulness over the years with prayer support, and ministry gifts. Each one of you mean a great deal to us!

With Love. Frank & Ruth
